We offer a full range of GP services covering every aspect of family medicine, child health, adult medicine, older person’s health, mental health, and sexual health as well as an initial assessment of acute illnesses and uncomplicated injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Disease Prevention<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

We provide cervical smears, a variety of immunisations from childhood to adulthood, flu vaccinations, travel vaccinations and cardiovascular risk assessment. We assist patients to enrol for breast cancer screening. We also do an initial assessment for patients who have a concern about any cancer. We provide opportunistic screening for chronic conditions such as diabetes, cognitive impairment and osteoporosis.<\/span><\/p>\n

Health Promotion and Health Education<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

We provide health education on healthy lifestyles and assist our patients with smoking cessation, staying active, healthy eating, weight reduction and stress management. We provide health education on a variety of health conditions as well as the management of illnesses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chronic illness<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Our doctor can assist you to establish a shared care plan which is agreed between you and our doctor for chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, chronic obstructive lung disease, heart failure, epilepsy and inflammatory bowel disease to empower you with adequate knowledge to manage your illness in both acute and stable situations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Palliative care<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

We work together with the community palliative care team to provide palliative care to our patients who are facing terminal illness. Our doctor can also assist you to establish an advanced care plan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rest home care<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Our doctor is one of the house doctors for Elmswood Retirement Village and Bupa Bethesda Care Home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nurse Consultations<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Our nurses can provide basic health education on a variety of health topics. Other services include immunisations, wound care, blood pressure checks, smoking cessation, diabetes checks, cardiovascular assessment, Flu vaccinations, cervical smear tests, and blood tests.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nurse services in additional to a doctor’s consultation<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Our nurses can assist our doctor to deliver the following services including childhood immunisations, travel vaccinations, wound care, liquid nitrogen, ECG and memory assessments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Specialist Service<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Dr Wong is also a physician (specialist) in geriatrics and adult medicine, and he is an affiliated provider to Southern Cross Health Society. He can provide specialist assessments for patients who require a more comprehensive review. The health problems can include memory difficulties, dizziness, blackout, racing hearts, shortness of breath, chest pain, chronic diarrhoea, headaches, refractory hypertension, focal weakness, just to name a few. This is a specialist consultation and so requires a specifically arranged longer consultation usually 45-60 minutes. The cost of the initial consultation is as expected with any specialist service – $400+GST. The cost of the follow-up consultation – $200+GST. We also need a referral from your family doctor.<\/span><\/p>\n
