Kia ora, my name is Umaya Ranaweera, and I am a GP registrar. Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Wellington, I completed my medical degree at the University of Otago in 2020. Before transitioning to General Practice, I gained experience in hospital-based medicine, which has shaped my approach to patient care. I am passionate about holistic, community-centered healthcare and enjoy building meaningful connections with my patients. Outside of medicine, I love painting, walking, and dancing, which help me stay creative and active.
