Cervical smears can pick up the abnormal cells that have the potential to turn into cervical cancer. We encourage all our female patients aged between 20 – 69 to enrol with the national cervical cancer screening programme. The nurses at our medical centre can do cervical smears for our female patients. We provide free cervical smears for priority groups: Maori, Pacific and Asian women aged 20 – 69, and all women aged 30 or more who never had a smear or have not had a smear for five years. Please check with us to see if you qualify.
